In 1991 I noticed that when my French students came back from their business or techical meetings in the USA or the UK, they would say it was very difficult to have normal conversations at dinner time for example, but that it was easy to have technical conversations. So I said "Hmm... maybe I should film normal people speaking normally and use those conversations in the classroom".
